Hubby and I went to Chichester which was not at all naughty. It was a lovely day and the fresh air and walk was just what I needed.
The naughty part was a trip into an art supplies/materials shop. I had intended to buy a Payne's Grey and so on to rejig my Cotman halfpan box. I ended up buying myself a tiny 12 x halfpan W&N Artists Water Colour field box - and the lady in the shop let me swap 5 of the halfpans for 5 others!
It was not cheap but I had some xmas money left over and I had been reading on the web about a 12 colour palette that was very similar to the ones I had been discussing with my artist aunt. I had also realised that 9 of the 12 halfpans in my Cotman set were hues and so not that great for mixing.
I now have 12 true pigment halfpans as well as the small tube of titanium white that I already had and a new tube of Lamp Black that I also picked up today. The halfpans are:
Alizarin Crimson (Permanent)
Windsor Green (Blue Shade)
Sap Green (Permanent)
I can't wait to use them!
